What is UtraDiff?
UtraDiff is a free online tool for comparing files. Drop, paste, or upload two files and see exactly what changed — side by side, with syntax highlighting and structural awareness.
It supports over 100 formats: source code in 80+ programming languages, data formats like JSON, CSV, YAML, and XML, plus visual comparison of images, PDFs, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations.
UtraDiff is built for developers, data analysts, content teams, and anyone who needs to spot differences between files quickly. It is free to use, with no account required and no limits on file size or number of comparisons.
Privacy
Your files stay on your device. UtraDiff is designed so that no file content ever leaves your browser.
- All processing happens in your browser. Files are read, parsed, and compared entirely on your machine using client-side JavaScript.
- Nothing is uploaded. No file content is sent to any server — not ours, not a third party’s.
- No account required. There is no sign-up, no login, and no personal data collected.
- Minimal cookies. The only data stored locally is your theme preference and colour palette choice, saved in
localStorage. - No tracking. UtraDiff does not use analytics services that identify individual users.
